Gernot Heinrich Winery – Wine from Burgenland
The Gernot Heinrich Winery from Burgenland is certainly one of Austria's top wineries. Falstaff awarded Heike and Gernot Heinrich's winery 5 stars. In 2000, Gernot Heinrich was voted Winemaker of the Year. The organic-certified Gernot Heinrich Winery is located in Gols in the Austrian Burgenland on the eastern side of Lake Neusiedl. Around 100 hectares of vineyards are cultivated predominantly biodynamically.
Gernot Heinrich Winery – Authenticity in Wine
Their wines show authenticity in the glass. This is because the Heinrichs allow the vintage to express itself, regardless of whether it's cold or hot, rainy or dry, and they let the terroir speak through the wine, even if this leads to a reductive vintage like 2014, which needed more time than other vintages to unfold. Their red wines Salzberg, Alter Berg, and Gabarinza impressively demonstrate the essence of their location, the typicality of their sites, and their microclimate. The natural wines of the Freyheit line, such as Roter Traminer Freyheit or Graue Freyheit, open up new taste worlds with their vibrant, textured structure.
