Superbon: Chips de Madrid – Spain meets Belgium
Superbon Chips de Madrid, founded in Brussels in 2012 by Philippe Emmanuelli, is now known for its magnificent Spanish chips, free from flavor enhancers and preservatives. Superbon, Chips de Madrid, potato chips are available in classic salted, salt and pepper, fiery Pimentón de la Vera, black truffle, or Herbs de Provence varieties. Discover the secret of their unique crunch.
Superbon is the little sister of the drying specialist Supersec (super dry). With Supersec, the former chef of the Belgian restaurant Café des Spores, dedicated to mushroom cuisine, realized his concept of removing water from high-quality fresh products, thus making them available year-round without loss of quality. Naturally, exotic mushrooms like black trumpet, morels, shiitake, but also chanterelles and porcini, were his first products. Dried seaweed and dried fruits soon followed. However, Philippe Emmanuelli didn't want to establish an elite brand with Supersec, but also offer products for everyday needs. Thus, the team around the charismatic chef selects excellent and universal products in an environment where remarkable quality, goodwill, and amiability are fundamental values. They reinvent products deeply rooted in Belgian culture by enriching them where they know best: quality, originality, meaningfulness, and aesthetics.

And since Belgians love potatoes, whether as frites (French fries) or chips, it was a natural next step to offer fried, and thus in a way dried, potatoes. So Philippe Emmanuelli set out to find truly good chips. He found them in the chip capital, in La Chueca, a district of Madrid, with the del Pozo family. Freshly harvested, hand-selected Spanish potatoes are first washed in the small factory and then sliced thinly before being fried in sunflower oil until truly crispy.
Superbon Chips de Madrid are not too thin, incredibly crispy, and have an incomparable potato flavor, all without flavor enhancers, preservatives, or artificial colors. They owe their vibrant design, which makes them stand out on the chip shelf, to the Brussels illustrator Greg Ewing. The chips from the Belgian brand Superbon Chips de Madrid are honest, super good Spanish potato chips with a French slogan: "La qualité a toujours raison" – Quality is always right. Super dry, super good, super clever!
