At genussland.de, Italian white wine primarily means South Tyrol — the alpine wine region that has risen to become one of Europe's most precise white wine regions over the past thirty years. 64 wines from South Tyrol and the southern Lake Garda, with a clear focus on mountain wines.
Our assortment includes Manincor with biodynamically produced Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Blancs, Kurtatsch and Kellerei Tramin with the entire alpine range from Kerner to Gewürztraminer to Chardonnay. From Lake Garda come the salty-mineral Lugana wines from Cà dei Frati and Pasini San Giovanni.
Stylistically, acidity and coolness are characteristic — not the powerful, oak-driven white wines known from Central Italy. The high altitudes in South Tyrol bring freshness even in hot vintages. A young Vernatsch from a Kalterersee vineyard or a young Lugana is suitable as an introduction.
